Usually pure aluminum with a purity (aluminum content) greater than 99.8% is called highpurity aluminum (highpurity aluminium). It is produced by directional solidification refining method with high quality refined aluminum as raw material.High purity aluminum can be subdivided into sub-ultra-high purity aluminum (aluminum content 99.5%~99.95%), ultra-high purity aluminum (aluminum content 99.996%~99.999%) and extremely high purity aluminum (aluminum content more than 99.999%). High purity aluminum is silver white, the surface is smooth, has a clear crystal pattern, does not contain inclusions.
High purity aluminum features and uses
High purity aluminum has low deformation resistance, high conductivity and good plasticity and other properties, mainly used in scientific research, electronics industry, chemical industry and manufacturing of high purity alloys, laser materials and some other special purposes. High purity aluminum is mostly made into aluminum foil and used in the manufacture of electrolytic capacitors. Other uses are used as electrolytic capacitor leads, integrated circuit wires, vacuum evaporation materials, spraying materials and so on. It can also be used as a stable conductor for superconductors, materials for computer external memory devices and matrix metals for disk alloys.
High purity aluminum refining method
High purity aluminum refining methods mainly use electrochemical purification methods and physical purification methods. The former has organic solution electrolysis method, and the latter has directional solidification method, single crystal method and zone melting method.
