Product Description

Ferrosilicon is made of coke, steel chips, quartz (or silica) as raw materials by electric furnace smelting. In the traditional refining of ferrosilicon, the silicon is reduced from the silica containing SIO₂.

Ferrosilicon exhibits high oxidation resistance, increased strength, and improved magnetic properties. It is also used in the production of cast alloys, abrasive materials, and other metallurgical products.

According to the content of Silicon, this product can be divided into FeSi with the Si content: 75%、72%、70%、65%、45%.

Application

1. Ferrosilicon is often used as deoxidizer in steel- making.

2. Ferrosilicon also can be used as alloy elements join agent, which is widely used in low alloy steel, non-ferrous metal, bearing steel, heat-resistant steels and electrician silicon-steel.

3. It can be used as a reductant in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.

4. In iron industry it can be used as inoculant and nodulizer.
