What is silicon calcium?
Calcium silicon, not called calcium silicide, contains calcium 22 ~ 35%, silicon 60 ~ 65%. YB 525-65 stipulates that the calcium content is not less than 31%, 28% and 24%, respectively.
Use of silicon calcium
Mainly used as inoculant for cast iron. Silicon-calcium alloy has a strong reduction capacity and is also used as a deoxidizer for high-quality steel. As a deoxidizer of steel, silicon - calcium - barium alloy or silicon - calcium - barium - aluminum alloy, or silicon - calcium - manganese alloy is mostly used.
Look out
Because calcium is very active at steelmaking temperature, the effect is not stable, it is appropriate to add some kind of mitigation agent.
